The TWU is ratcheting up its public campaign against New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, launching a second television ad calling out the Mayor for refusing to participate in the MTA’s comprehensive action plan to fix the city’s subway. The ads are part of an ongoing TWU campaign to compel Mayor de Blasio to pay his fair share of fixing the subway meltdown and to protect the 2,400 permanent Local 100 jobs that we won to address this crisis. Together with Local 100, the union is taking aim at the Mayor’s refusal to allocate a fraction of the city’s $4 billion surplus in taxpayer money to reverse the “summer of hell” NYC subway riders are enduring.
The TWU is committed to standing with its largest transit local in this critical fight for jobs, passenger safety, and the short and long term transit system enhancements that are desperately needed. Watch the latest one on Local 100’s website here: http://tinyurl.com/yc68484l
