My TWU Brothers and Sisters:
On behalf of the entire International Administrative Committee and TWU’s international staff, I’d like to extend a heartfelt wish for a happy and healthy holiday season to you and your family.
As 2015 comes to a close, I’ve spent a great deal of time reflecting on what this administration has accomplished and I’m looking forward to our work together in 2016.
Two years ago, we promised you a fighting, militant union. I hope you can see how we’re making good on that promise, from organizing victories, to political successes, to stronger contracts, and a more robust training program.
In 2016, we’ll continue to communicate regularly and make sure we’re out in the field to hear your concerns and to share information in a timely and transparent manner.
We’ll support and grow the State Conferences as Election 2016 heats up, so we have the political power to tackle the issues that matter to our members, and to hold politicians accountable—at every level—for the policies they make that affect your life.
And we’ll go after industry-leading contracts in all of our divisions, and we won’t put up with the stall tactics and machinations of employers who think they can strong-arm us. We’ll stand up for you in the workplace and we’ll continue to organize new members: we won’t back down when it comes to bringing union representation to those who need it most.
We’ve spent a great deal of time re-energizing TWU, and we’re ready to expand on that success with your help.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and your commitment to this union. May you enjoy a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.
With Gratitude,
Harry Lombardo
International President
