May 31 marks Flight Attendants Appreciation Day – and the TWU International wants to acknowledge how much we value our 25,000 frontline crew members who work hard, each and every day.
We know that being a flight attendant is not an easy job by any measure. At 30,000 feet in the air, you are responsible for keeping passengers safe, secure and comfortable. The aviation industry is making your job even more difficult as it overbooks flights and slashes customer amenities. You sacrifice time with family and friends when flights are delayed or cancelled.
What some might see as “glamorous” is actually extremely hard work.
On top of that, you’re subjected to health hazards and other dangerous situations – yet take it all in stride. So many of you have been sickened by toxic fume events, sexually harassed or experienced some other type of negative treatment. You put your health and safety on the line for the greater good of the flying public.
Today we want to say, “Thank you” to all of you, for going above and beyond. We have the utmost respect for the service you provide and are honored to represent you!
Happy Flight Attendants Appreciation Day!
