The TWU Urges Administration to Reverse Decision to Suspend Global Entry Registration in New York
In response to the Administration’s decision to suspend registration in New York for Trusted Traveler Programs, including Global Entry, the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) is calling on President Trump, the Department of Homeland Security, and Congress to reverse this decision immediately.
TWU members, including flight attendants and other airline workers, rely on Trusted Traveler programs like Global Entry to get to and from work and perform their jobs in a timely and efficient manner. These workers have already undergone extensive background checks as a condition of their employment, far beyond any check performed by an individual state. There is no security reason why these workers should be denied access to expedited airport screening.
“This decision is a political stunt that hurts working people. The Global Entry program has nothing to do with politics, but this Administration is attempting to score points while our members pay the price,” said International President John Samuelsen.
