TWU Local 592 Reaches Tentative Agreement with ExpressJet
Members of Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) Local 592 and ExpressJet have reached a tentative agreement. The TWU’s flight dispatch group had been negotiating a contract since November 2018.
Workers will receive industry leading wages and work rules with this new contract.
TWU Air Division Systems Coordinator Gary Peterson said, “We believe this tentative agreement will push other airlines to rethink their bargaining strategy. ExpressJet moved through these negotiations in a collaborative way, looking at their dispatchers as a strength to the company’s growth into the future – unlike other regional carriers who look at the position as only a steppingstone to a major carrier.”
Voting on the tentative agreement will open tomorrow and, if ratified the new four-year agreement will become effective December 27, 2019.
