[STATEMENT] Response to US DOT Decision Re. NAI Application for Foreign Air Carrier Permit
Washington, DC — Transport Workers Union of America International President Harry Lombardo issued the following statement in response to the US Department of Transportation’s denial of Norwegian Air International’s foreign air carrier permit exemption application.
“The U.S. Department of Transportation today denied Norwegian Air International’s application exemption request. TWU members will continue to oppose this flag of convenience scheme as the application process moves forward.”
The Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) represents 200,000 workers and retirees in commercial aviation, public transportation and passenger railroads, including 11,000 flight attendants at Southwest Airlines and 500 flight attendants at Allegiant Air. The union is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO.
